Saintly Sins is my personal website where I make the rules and can do things my way.
Be sure to check Site Status for any recent update information.
About the Site Organization
The site organization should be intuitive..that was my goal. If you think you should be able to get where you want by doing something to get there then I want doing it to work.
Pages on this site may be child pages of other pages and are arranged in a hierarchy. The site is divided into Sections and each Section has its own Home Page. So each of the pages is also the home page for a Section (or category) in the site. Every page, post, photo, poem, video, attachment etc. (including Sections that are not in the site root itself) is located in just one Section but may also be assigned to (listed in) other Sections. (So Sections contain pages, posts, photos, etc. and other Sections. AND may be listed in other Sections they are not hierarchically part of as well.)
The location of the page, post, etc in the hierarchical structure of the site is shown in the PATH (Where am I? ) at the top of the page. The path shows the current page and all ancestors back to the Site Root. These are links that will take you to the parent, grandparent, etc PAGE in the hierarchy of the site. You can go directly to any page in the site (provided you have access rights to it) by using the page list at the bottom of a page.
Whenever you see something in BLUE or UNDERLINED it means a link. Almost all names are links whether in BLUE or UNDERLINED or not.
About the Content
A lot of what I post is from other sites and posted here with links to the originals BECAUSE I like, agree, or disagree with it. (Some of the poems, photos, and articles were previously published by me or others.)
About the Menu
The Main Menu is at the top of every PAGE on the site. It provides a logical way into the site and does not necessarily represent the hierarchical structure of the site. When you move the cursor over an item in the Main Menu, you will usually see a drop down menu with links to are logical to expect to find on that item listed things you would logically expect to find under such a menu item in a website menu. Not everything on the menus is a page with the name shown on the menu but you will be able to access what is listed on the menu. (The menu at the bottom of the page will not show the drop-down menus.)
Check out the links in the side bar and at the bottom of the page also.
You can click on an underlined date in the calendar to see the archive of everything added to the site on that date where you can chose the archive for any month in any year (that the site has existed) that had anything added.
Here’s a brief description of what you’ll find under each of the Main Menu Items.
- Home Is where you’ll start when you first come to the site and where you’ll be taken when you logout or first register. The most recent Blog posts are displayed on the home page.
- About contains important information about the site (including this page)…You should check it especially if it’s been a while since you last did.
- Site Status contains information about changes and updates to the site. You should check this page to see if anything important has been done to the site since you last visited.
- Blog Contains all the Blog posts and several blogging sub-section home pages. Most things that get added to the site are BLOG POST. The Pages are static items that serve as anchors for sections (categories) or a particular subject or idea.
- The Genealogy section is the home page for My Perry Family Geneology Site. It contains more than just genealogical information out my ancestors.
- The Photos section provides access to the photos on the site including document photo copies, and other images used on the site.
- Videos are just that.
- The Poetry section contains poetry.
- Contribute Allows members to contribute content to the site.
- Contact has several methods, including an email form, to contact me.
- The Index page has a site maps of pages, sections, tags, and attachments some of which can usually also be found at side and/or at the bottom of some (or most?) pages or posts.
- Login allows visitors to register, and registered users to login, recover or change passwords, and edit their profile.
Make sure you read the CopyRight, Terms, and Privacy pages since accessing this site means you have agreed to be legally bound by their content.
I hope you find something here of interest. Look around using the Main Menu and other Links on pages you visit and if you find anything you like, (or don’t) or you have any questions or suggestions let me know. Feel free to point out any errors, leave a comment if comments are open (at the bottom of the page) or submit your original stuff and I’ll consider publishing it.
